Stankiewicz–Różewicz–Stankiewicz
11.04–21.05.2017
- free admission
Stankiewicz–Różewicz–Stankiewicz at the Pan Tadeusz Museum is an exhibition telling the story of two outstanding artists from Wrocław: Tadeusz Różewicz and Eugeniusz Get Stankiewicz, photographed by Janusz Stankiewicz.
The conversations between the two, which began in the 1990s in the Chalcographer’s House at the Wrocław Main Square, developed into collaborative art projects and a friendship between the artists. Eugeniusz’s brother, Janusz Stankiewicz, who participated in their meetings, took photographs which complement the story of this special artistic collaboration.
The exhibition comprises manuscripts, prints, copperplate etchings, theatrical posters and books by the artists, courtesy of the Ossoliński National Institute and Janusz Stankiewicz’s private collection. The artworks presented at the exhibition come from following series: Eugeniusz Get Stankiewicz’s, Tadeusz Różewicz’s and… Amusing and Useful Games, Learning to Walk Continues and the Social Copperplate.
The event is accompanied by a catalogue, including the story of the collaboration between the artists and Janusz Stankiewicz’s recollections.
